Miscellaneous News
XFC will crown it’s first strawweight champion Friday night as Stephanie Eggink (3-1) will fight Angela Magana (11-5). Eggink weighted in at 114.6 pounds. Magana initially weighted in at 115.4, but since this was a title fight, she had to drop the extra 0.4 pounds. Was weighted in at 115 even on the second try.
Eggink has won all of her XFC bouts, getting decisions over Brianna VanBuren and Heather Clark. Magana will be making her promotion debut, coming off a loss to UFC signee Jessica Eye. Magana had won three straight before the loss.
The scheduled bout between Stephanie Skinner and Angelica Chavez was cancelled due to Chavez getting mono earlier this week. Both got their fight purses. No word on when the fight will be rescheduled.
The title match between Eggink and Magana will air live on AXS TV Friday night.

Gutierrez
Cummins
Veteran fighter Michele Gutierrez is hoping to get back on the winning track and even her record as she will face Rachael Cummins at BAMMA Bad Beat 11 October 25 in Commerce, CA.
Gutierrez (3-4) was on a three fight win streak before losing to Amanda LaVoy in May of 2011. She lost via armbar against Tyra Parker last month. She is hoping to break a three fight losing streak.
Cummins (1-1) is coming off a submission win over Maia Kahaunaele this past June. She would lose to InvictaFC’s Norma Center in her pro MMA debut.
BAMMA USA will announce a stream for the event in the coming weeks.

The early ratings are in as roughly 726,000 households in the US watched the Ultimate Fight 18 premier Wednesday night. This was half of the number of the Ultimate Fighter season 17 premier. A good part of why deals with the show moving from the popular FX network to the fledgling Fox Sports 1, and that it aired on Wednesday, one of the busiest days for prime time viewership.
The show is also airing on FX in Australia Wednesdays and BT Sports in Great Britain Thursday nights.

The UFC has announced their new EA Sports video game will feature female fighters. UFC champ Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate are officially announced for the game, with more will be joining them as the game is created. The women won’t be able to fight the men in the game, so no dream matches of Rousey versus Brian Caraway folks.
Usually with these games there is a “create a fighter” option, so with a little bit of skill, you can probably create anyone from the InvictaFC roster (at 135 of course).
Contrary to popular belief, this isn’t the first time a female fight will be a part of a UFC video game. MiddleEasy pointed out Ericka Montoya was in the UFC’s 2004 game.
