Davis

In what was the first female UFC match that went the distance, Alexis Davis solidified her spot in the bantamweight rankings as she defeated fellow UFC debuter Rosi Sexton at UFC 161 in Winnipeg, Canada Saturday.

Davis (now 14-5) controller most of the fight on the ground, but Sexton wasn’t going to give up that easily. Sexton defended an early triangle choke attempt and survived a barrage of ground and pound at the end of the second. Davis would bet the unanimous decision, however, and get one step closer to a title fight.
